Nas, Pete Rock, & More Send Condolences to Dancehall Artist & 'Belly' Star Louis Rankin

The dancehall artist turned actor's vehicle collided with a transport truck in Ontario on Monday.

Louie Rankin, dancehall artist and actor, died in a car crash in Ontario on Monday, September 30th, according to TMZ.

Born and raised in Saint Thomas Parish, Jamaica, Rankin's 1992 hit "Typewriter" launched him to prominence on the dancehall scene, peaking at #25 on Billboard charts in 1993. Rankin is best known in the States, however, for acting work: he had parts in Belly and Shottas.

Most recently, Rankin reunited with Nas to make a cameo in DJ Khaled's "Nas Album Done" video.

After the news came out, a bunch of people in the music world from Nas to Pete Rock sent their condolences.
