Dame Dash On JAY-Z's Lawsuit Against Him: "He Don't Want Nobody To Eat But Him"

JAY-Z is suing Dame Dash for attempting to steal and sell Reasonable Doubt as an NFT.

Dame Dash has responded to JAY-Z's lawsuit against him alleging that Dash stole the copyright to his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt, and minted it as an NFT to sell at an auction.

In a report from Page Six, Dash said that he owns a third of Roc-A-Fella records —  the label he co-founded with JAY-Z — while clarifying that he doesn't intend to sell Reasonable Doubt as an NFT.

"He lying. That’s a whole lie. Jay owns one-third of Reasonable Doubt," Dash told Page Six, before adding: "They just said that I tried to sell an NFT of Reasonable Doubt and … it's not true. I'm not running around to different places trying to auction off Reasonable Doubt. I've been working with one platform and that's SuperFarm."

"And the thing is I own a third of Roc-A-Fella Records and I can sell my third if I feel like it," he added.

Dash also said that JAY had tried to buy his own stake before, but "it was a crackhead deal."

"… He [Jay] don’t want nobody to eat but him. The real issue is [he has to] to compromise a man’s reputation for no reason," Dash said.

JAY's suit claims that Dash is "frantically scouting for another venue to make the sale." The suit also argues that Dash "has no right to sell the copyright or any individual ownership interests in Reasonable Doubt."

On Tuesday (June 22), The Hollywood Reporter reported that a judge had halted Dash's NFT auction. The auction had been set for June 23-25.
