Chance The Rapper's presence in the entertainment industry and influence on/from his hometown of Chicago will be examined in tonight's edition of CNN's critically acclaimed Chicagoland mini-doc series. The series examines the summer of 2013 in the embattled south side of Chicago, at precisely the time when the young rap sensation was recording his own critically acclaimed body of work Acid Rap. Thus far, the series has kept tabs on Chicago's Mayor Rahm Emanuel and explored the impact of educational reformist Liz Dozier.

Tonight's episode turns the focus to chronicle Chance's assent into hip-hop's top-tier and how the loss of a close friend during that summer in Chicago effected him both personally and musically. And in turn, how his success has effected the city's culture and overall morale. Watch the trailer for the episode below, but be sure to tune in to CNN at 9pm tonight to see Chance The Rapper's firsthand account of what will prove to be a remarkably trying summer for the young artist, complete with live footage of his performances and behind-the-scenes looks at him in the studio and on-set. Not to be missed y'all.
