Twin brother producers Christian Rich put out one of the most superb-yet-slept-on releases of the year with FW14, a record that features devilishly thick R&B grooves underpinning ace performances by the likes of Vince Staples, Goldlink, JMSN, Denitia & Sene, Jack Davey, AKUA and Steve Arrington. That's a massive list, so allow yourself some time to let their co-sign cred sink in a bit before we proceed.
One of FW14's standout cuts was the Staples and Bia-assisted "High," and now it seems Christian Rich has capitalized on the song's top-notch performances by bringing in a couple of talented friends to perform remix duty. Specifically, jazz piano star Kris Bowers and another producer duo, KRNE. Bowers's flip is predictably cooled out and luscious in its deployment of strings and pensive keyboard lines, while KRNE's interpretation borders on full-on EDM, it's sawtooth bass and siren synths totally reforming the tune's structure while leaving its core intact. Both remixes are signs that "High" holds more than a few secrets--and that Christian Rich know how to play damn well with others. Listen to both remixes below and pick up a copy of FW14 on iTunes today.
