Childish Gambino - "Sweatpants/Urn" [Official Video]

Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) takes a step into the spotlight--only for a moment-- to drop off his double feature with visuals for "Sweatpants" and "Urn" from his standout 2013 LP Because The Internet. Its an odd ball video that pokes fun at the monotony of the "techno-loop" with some Groundhog's Day meets Michael Keaton in Multiplicity type of visuals, finding Gambino entering and reentering the same busy diner. Except every time he steps into the booth he was sitting at, another face in the diner turns into his own.

And so on and so forth, until of course the entire dining room is full of his own faces and he makes his final loop and the camera cuts, letting the best minute and a half of creeping atmospheric r&b that dropped all of last year seep into the visual as  Gambino's falsetto croon drops into the verse over some wet rhodes textures on "Urn." Seriously though, if you slept on Gambino's exceptional concept piece Because The Internet, you missed out on one of the most dynamic and well balanced releases in years. You can watch the latest visuals for Bino's "Sweatpants" and "Urn" below, but be sure to cop Because The Internet folks. Just do it .
