Chic, Bill Withers, War, NWA, Kraftwerk, + More Have Been Nominated For The Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame
It’s that time of the year again, folks; when a legion of industry luminaries finds themselves cemented in the thralls of music history as they are inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame. This year’s list of nominees features some of R&B’s legends, namely Chic, The Marvelettes, War, The Spinners and Bill Withers; all of which are just making ballots after years of eligibility. Along with some of soul’s commanders, electronic pioneers Kraftwerk will also be making the grade, as well as G-Funk generals NWA in their very first year of eligibility. And what better time do so than the year that the long-coveted (and necessary) Straight Outta Compton biopic finally begins production?
I doesn’t stop there. Blues guitar hero Stevie Ray Vaughan will also see his Strat-strutting stuff memorialized on a ballot, along with a host of post-punk acts like Green Day, The Smiths, Lou Reed and Police frontman Sting. Voting ends December 9th, so be sure to hit the link below to submit your ballot and make sure your favorite artist gets the HOF treatment.
