Charles Bradley - "You Put The Flame On It" + Behind The Scenes Video

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Charles Bradley follows the release of his sophomore LP Victim Of Love with his latest track, "You Put The Flame On It." The dense funk track comes with an infectious dance groove and a bassline that would steal the show if it weren't for the force behind Bradley's sandy soul vocal. The horns throw back to the bright stabs of James Brown's "Mother Popcorn" while Charles Bradley channels the godfather's influence into a powerhouse performance on the doo-wop inspired track. Teamed with the Menahan Street Band, he delivers a hard-rocking piece of soul reminiscent of early material from groups like The Temptations and The Four Tops. Accompanying the release of the track is a behind-the-scenes video from Daptone Records that features Bradley discussing his evolution from homelessness and other setbacks to finding a home and his own voice at the Brooklyn label. Charles Bradley continues to heal himself as he treats the world to a heaping helping of raw soul. He will take the show on the road this summer to promote the album across Europe and North America. The tour will take him across the festival circuit, with stops at Lollapalooza, FYF Fest and Bumbershoot. This jaunt follows the spring tour Charles Bradley just wrapped and is slated to be capped by a free show in Brooklyn on September 20th. Take a listen to Charles Bradley's new single "You Put The Flame On It" below. Scroll down to check out the behind-the-scenes video from Daptone Records and Charles Bradley's upcoming tour dates.
