Chance The Rapper Relaunches City-Wide #FaithInAction Non-Violence Campaign In Chicago

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

This Memorial Day weekend, Chance The Rapper will be relaunching his #FaithInAction campaign; a city-wide initiative that kept Chi-town murder-less for a full 42-hours this same weekend last year. While that may not seem like too great a feet, if one were to take into account that the city had 456 homicides last year. That's roughly one and one quarter per day or one every 19 hours. So yeah, it's definitely something. Chance and his brother Taylor are leading a massive social media crusade with the hashtags #SaveChicago and #PutTheGunsDown, as well as providing the city's youth with a slew of community activities like BBQs, block parties, shows and prayer corners in every crevice to keep the peace. He's also provided a map for those interested to navigate through all of the madness. So if you’re out and about and with the cause, come show your support and stand in solidarity with a city that needs it, more than you’ll ever know. And if you’re lucky, you might even run into the rapper they call Chance. Hit the link below to peep the map of all of the city’s events this weekend.
