Marc Cerrone, or Cerrone, is one of those rare musical luminaries whose mark on pop music and the greater funk tradition can still be felt here and now. Whether you're a full-on funkateer or a casual dabbler in four-t0-the-floor freakers, the French pioneer's era-defining piece "Supernature" should come as essential listening; a damn-near perfect dissertation in cosmic disco. And while it's probably been a minute since you even thought about all of the spacey goodness of Cerrone's classic, we're being treated to a new video and an updated mix for the cut, roughly 38 years since its initial release.
For the most part, the mix remains as clean as it ever was, with the major transformation coming in a new vocal treatment from Beth Ditto and a mix credit for French producer Alex Braxe, all played against a visual that wreaks of Cerrone's trademark golden touch; a potent audiovisual bomb for your weekend shenanigans. And if you need sometime to brush up on the Italo-disco gawd's backstory, don't fret, we've got you covered.Indulge in a fresh new clip and video for the disco giant's "Supernature" below.
