Tyson or Jordan? Brother Ali Talks Influences, Dream Collaborations & Top MCs
Mid-Western rhyme-sayer Brother Ali took a moment in the most recent episode of Mass Appeal's Off Tha Wall series to divulge some juice on how he came up, as well as what makes the bearded wizard of prose tick. Originally hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, Ali moved to the purple city of Minneapolis at the age of 15, which was right around the time he converted to Islam. Assuming that he took the name Ali from his favorite boxer, he was later informed of the fact that Cassius took the name from the Prophet Muhammad's cousin Ali. Other topic's discussed include Ali's favorite emcees, his dream studio session, the best Rakim verses and who he would pick out of Mike Tyson or Michael Jordan. Some of these reponses might throw you through the loop, but it's a rare lighthearted Q&A with a fierce MC. Peep Brother Ali's answers for Off Tha Wall below.
