Bootsy Collins Invites BADBADNOTGOOD To His Studio

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

We were given the opportunity to observe P-Funk cohort and Rubber Band founder Bootsy Collins when he invited Odd Future affiliates BADBADNOTGOOD to join him at his Cincinnati studio, getting coached by a sage in his palace of funkdom. In the inaugural episode Red Bull Music Academy's Sounds Like series, Bootzilla coaches the Toronto hip-hop and jazz trio on all things pocket, schooling the young musicians on Funkadelic's M.O. "Everything is on the one.." What transpires is improvised gold, conducted by none other than the ever-optimistic bass guru. They waxed on all things funk, discussing the various acts Bootsy's had the opportunity to contribute to, as well as how a scholar's approach to music doesn't always pan out the way you'd like, with all parties involved being music school drop-outs. So go get your day's fix of boogie below and watch out for BBNG and their pig-masked antics when they come around your way.
