Big K.R.I.T. Talks Tupac, 'Cadillactica,' Kendrick Lamar + More w/ MONTREALITY
It's been a busy couple of weeks for Mississippi mic-terror Big K.R.I.T. and I'd say it's about damn time we heard a few words from him to let us know where he's at these days. Recently he caught up with the good folks at MONTREALITY to do just that, delving into a laundry list of more topical subjects like his favorite cartoon character as a child and what kind of student he was, but seeing as how your boy dropped out to pursue his music career, not all that much needed to be said.
The meat of the discussion falls on where he lays in the debate over Tupac's legacy and influence, whether he feels derailed at all by the successes of the Kendrick Lamars and J. Coles of the world and (not so surprisingly) his latest, southern slurring LP Cadillactica, which he gave us a free surprise serving of last week. I won't give away too much, but KRIT really shines in the level humility and artistry he exudes with every word. You can watch Big K.R.I.T. chop it up with the good folks at MONTREALITY below, just be sure to give his stellar Cadillactica LP a run if you've yet to do so and preorder the album on iTunes if it hits the right notes.
