Big Freedia Is Not Going To Jail, Gets Probation

Big Freedia Answers Beyonc\u00e9's Call In New Episode Of "Big Freedia: Queen Of Freedia"

Big Freedia, the Queen of Bounce, is facing no jail time after defrauding the government. Freedia, who is 38, pleaded guilty to purposely underreporting her income and fraudulently receiving federal housing voucher money to the tune of $35,000, over a period of some years. She made the plea of guilty a few months back and was just sentenced yesterday. The verdict: three years of probation in addition to paying $35,000 in restitution. Not too bad concerning she was facing a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. U.S. District Judge Lance Africk handed down the sentence and also made it a point to tell Freedia to not relapse into drug abuse.
