Two nights after the Grammy’s were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, some of the biggest and brightest stars in the building crossed the street over to The Nokia Theatre to pay tribute to the great Stevie Wonder. The CBS special, Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life — An All-Star Grammy Salute, was shot last week, but just aired this evening. Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Annie Lennox, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, John Legend, Ed Sheeran, Janelle Monae, and Gary Clark Jr. were among the stars who touched the stage to pay tribute to Stevie with some memorable performances. The videos should start pouring in, but let’s start with what was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the evening. Beyonce kicked things off with performances of Stevie classics “Fingertips,” “Jammin,” and “Higher Ground” with some help from Ed Sheeran and Gary Clark Jr. Over 50 years of recording excellence and 25 Grammys to date, and the man still couldn’t seem more humbled by it all - salute to you, Stevie.
