almost all of this music was made in oakland, CA while i was in grad school for film. along w/ “hand drawn rhythm machine”, i consider this collection a parallel thesis of sorts: a brain dump of creative impulses that i set aside while i worked on my actual film thesis, which was a short documentary about a family friend who makes his living as a professional musician.
WesWill – Summertime Slaps Vol. 1
Cleveland native WesWill follows the 2017 GlassHouse 2 tape with Summertime Slaps Volume 1. Pulling from a bevy of influences including Outkast, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Big K.R.I.T. and DJ Quik, WesWill leads with his signature rapid-fire flow across a total of seven tracks.

DJ Tahleim – The Wonder Of Fania
Stevie Wonder and The Fania All-Stars collide on The Wonder of Fania mix by New York City’s own DJ Tahleim.
Stevie Wonder & The Fania All-Stars! One night only! In the mid 70’s Stevie Wonder joined Fania on stage for a super surprise guest performance which was recorded and featured in this mixtape. As I listened in awe I could feel the excitement of not only the audience but also of the maestro himself Johnny Pacheco. Can you image what a full concert would be like in say a Madison Square Garden? To me this would be the ultimate musical experience. The best of both worlds! Soul & Salsa mixed with some Funk, Boogaloo, Disco, Afrobeat and then some! That’s a whole lot of Soul & Sazon! Added to the bill would be Jose Feliciano, Sergio Mendes, Manu Dibango & Antibalas! All paying homage to Stevie and Fania. Come join me on a journey through my innervisions and enjoy this live concert mix brought to life by the art and magic of DJin’. I am overjoyed to the bring you what i would imagine this concert would sound like
DJ Tony Tone – No Tunes For The Timid
DJ Tony Tone takes aim at the hip-hop ruling the airwaves with his two-hour No Tunes For The Timid mix.
i made this to highlight that hard shit that *i* like. ain’t no emo, tender hip hop on this joint. even the few r&b songs on here are hardbody. my hope is that you discover, explore & support these artists. i made sure that i credited all of the producers as well; respect to the beat scene/culture. you won’t hear most of these artists on those radio stations that claim to be where hip hop lives. no disrespect. sike…all disrespect intended! same goes for you bloggers, youtubers and big mouthed, empty headed, fake “for the culture” nignogs. thanks to my guys 4 the words – Hex Murd…uh…Hex Hawking/Ironside Hex, Elzhi, Phonte, Black Milk, Jake One, HouseShoes, Flashius Clayton, Nolan the Ninja, 14KT and Guilty Simpson. dedicated to the memory of Sean Price, Prodigy & Combat Jack. holding it down for our fallen brothers, J Dilla, Baatin & Big Proof. RIP DJ Sean Haley/discodj, miss you bro.
