What’s next? That’s the question on everyone’s mind after director Barry Jenkins won a Best Picture Oscar for his masterpiece, Moonlight.

It turns out the director is going to be a very busy man. Jenkins is teaming up with Plan B, the production company behind Moonlight, to adapt Colson Whitehead’s brilliant 2016 novel, The Underground Railroad. The adaptation will be a limited series. Details are still sparse, but we would imagine Netflix or Amazon are going to battle it out for the rights.

The Underground Railroad is a book in which the underground railroad functions as an actual train and railroad route. The book became an instant best-seller after President Oprah Winfrey added the novel to her book club.

It probably doesn’t need to be said, but this is going to be great.
