BADBADNOTGOOD & Kaytranada Have 50 Tracks Stashed Away
The creative chemistry between BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada has been well documented over the years. One needs not look any further than jazz punk quartet's new album IV, where the pair of Canadian upstarts link up for the velvety "Lavender," to get a sense of what they're capable of as a combined force. Before that they crossed the streams on a grip of remixes, including "Sharpness" by Jamie Woon and Tuxedo's "The Right Time," and that still barely scrapes the surface of what they've accomplished in tandem in just the last year alone.
A recent interview with Billboard found the quartet opening up about their new album, but the most remarkable takeaway from the session is the fact that they apparently have 50 (five zero) tracks with Kaytra stashed away in the vault. Which certainly begs the question: when do we get that BBNG x Kaytra collabo album? That, unfortunately, was not revealed. But with all of the time they seem to be spending in the studio (and a very apparent shared fondness of one another) it's definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Elsewhere in the interview BBNG' can be found reflecting on their work with Ghostface Killah on the Sour Soul LP, as well as their reception in the jazz community.
