Odd_Future_Tape_Vol_2
Another sugary leak from the Odd Future Tape Vol. 2, this one with pink frosting and rainbow jimmys on top. If Frank Ocean's "White" was the OFWGKTA answer to, say, Phil Collins, then this contribution from The Internet (AKA Syd Tha Kid and Matt Martians) is the wolf-call version of Lucy Pearl a nice mix of digital noise, soulful chords and step-pable drums. Though not as mainstream friendly as Ocean (or as tabloid friendly as Tyler) The Internet are on of the most buzzed-about groups in the circles we move in--to the point that by now they have as many inteviews floating around as songs. Watch one of the mor enlightenng--a Syd documentary from Lester Bangs, prompting reflection on not only her music and role in the wolf-gang but her personal feelings about some of the gender issues raised by their music. OF Tape Vol. 2 drops tomorrow, March 20th.
