A$AP Shams: Rocky's Rod Stewart Mixtape A No-Go, But An A$AP Yams Tribute Is In The Works

A$AP Rocky To Release 'Born To Be Pretty' Mixtape w/ Rod Stewart This Summer

UPDATE: I suppose we were all taken this morning, with the seemingly inconceivable one-up on "Everyday." But the news isn't all bad (after all, I don't imagine any sober mind would actually want to hear an A$AP Stewart tape. Wait. No. We so do.) Pretty Flacco will be dropping something off at some point this summer called COZY TAPES VOL.1 , an apparent ode to and completion of late friend/mob-chief A$AP Yams' legacy.

As if A$AP Rocky's link-up with British pop-rock god Rod Stewart on his lead-off single "Everyday" wasn't already the most unconventional pairing this side of LL Cool J & Brad Paisley, it seems we're about to get another taste of the weirdness from Rocky. In a recent interview with Vulture, the hard-hitting Harlemite announced that the full extent of his and Stewart's musical menagerie would be realized on a forthcoming (and aptly named) mixtape titled Born To Be Pretty later this summer. And while barely any details on the project were revealed in the interview, Rocky seems confident in the tape's panty-dropping prowess. But we'll be the judge of that young Flacco. Outside of the new tape, Rocky's At.Long.Last.A$AP LP is doing damage on the charts --hitting the number one spot after selling 146,00o copies of the record in its first week -- and also has a forthcoming project with Zoe Kravitz up his sleeve, though details remain just as sparse on that piece. But perhaps that's enough A$AP Rocky ramblings for one Thursday morning. We'll be sure to have the latest on that front as details roll-out, so hold tight and bide your time with his exceptional new album, which is available to purchase on iTunes today.
