Producer and MPC prodigy Abraham Orellana, AKA araabMUZIK caught an unfair one yesterday when he was apparently shot in the back during a botched robbery attempt in his hometown in Rhode Island. No exact details of what went down have been forthcoming, but we do know that he is hospitalized and recovering, as his manager (and Dipset OG) DukeDaGod took to twitter to post a picture (seen above) of the producer in a hospital bed. A representative for araabMUZIK told Billboard News:

"Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well. He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can."

In an update Duke added:

“He’s in stable condition at the hospital in RI. He was shot in the back last night…wrong place wrong time with wrong person. He should be in the hospital for a week or so and expected to make a full recovery!”

And that's what we know--though as Miss Info points out the abortive robbery comes a scant two weeks after Vice posted pictures of araab's $50,000 diamond-covered MPC mixer pendant, a one-of-a-kind piece created by Aviannes & Co in NYC, among other bling, which could certainly be a lure for would-be stick up kids.

Goes without saying our thoughts first and foremost are for araabM to have a recovery as speedy as his sample-fingers (after this, we sincerely hope he's got those bad boys insured) but of course we here at OKP have extra special ulterior good wishes of seeing the MPC beast back on his feet in time to scorch y'all with bass at The Roots Picnic. So let us just join with Duke when he says:
