From Malcolm X To Charlie Brown: Ab-Soul Chops It Up With Nardwuar

Nardwuar was in full-form when he gave Ab-Soul the old Human Serviette treatment in a recent meeting of the minds. Their not-so candid banter began with some standard gift-giving and a quick history lesson from Nardy, bestowing upon the Black Lip Pastor the work of his grandfather and uncle (having founded Magic Disc Records) which was a copy of the "Brick House/Got To Give It Up" 12" by unspoken West Coast funk champs Most Requested Rhythm BandOther offerings included a copy of  Keith LeBlanc's funky Malcolm X tribute "No Sell Out" (one of the first sample-based cuts ever,) Joe Budden's self-titled LP and, of course, a pair of promo P-Funk shades to add to his extensive collection.

Ab was eventually vetted for his King of Carson status, quickly and confidently confirmed by THS of all people on the grounds of having a mutual acquaintance in The Muffler Man; a mythical figure that only true Gs like Ab and (apparently) the Serviette know of. They briefly discuss some of the more important cartoon characters, to which Ab proclaims his admiration of Charlie Brown and The Chipmunks. Its another hilarious exposition from the shark-like researcher that (as always) might teach you something. Watch Ab-Soul and Nardwuar chop it up below.
