Video Premiere: A VA VA "Everything"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Alright, do you suffer from photosensitive epilepsy? no? good, then you'll love this new video. We're proud to premiere the debut music video from one of my favorite bands out, A VA VA with "Everything." A VA VA is the spinoff trio from Brooklyn collective, Recess. You'll remember you got a sample of their sound with a trailer a few months back, but this song right here is the one I initially heard some time ago and instantly made me a fan. Watch the Aaron Vazquez directed video, below, and also get some words from Aaron on the video. If you like what you're hearing (you do) check them on the road this summer, dates below, as well. A VA VA's debut project, Get Your Life, drops on June 25th via The Club Casa (look for a stream of the album right here, next week).

When Andrew came to me with this idea of projections of themselves on that wall, I told him I thought it was a great idea. I saw it as a representation of the freedom of our inner selves versus the restriction of our outer selves.  So many things in our daily life restrict our outer bodies. But in our minds we have a lot more independence to explore, create and imagine. We wanted to show that in this video. It was little complicated to pull off. The guys had to take a break because I had to do some mid-shoot editing before we got to shoot the rest of the video but it ended up looking great. Thanks to Room17 for letting us shoot in their wonderful studio. Shout out to Shamz for believing in us from day one. Get Your Life.
