A Tribe Called Quest's Final Album Projected to Debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200

5 Ways A Tribe Called Quest Broke Hip-Hop's Golden Age Formula

Earlier this week Hits Daily Double reported that A Tribe Called Quest's final album (and first in 18 years) We Got It From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service, would sell 60,000-70,000 units in its opening week. Now Billboard is reporting that the figure is closer to 120,000 equivalent units, and that appears to be more than enough for a chart-topping debut. In fact, according to Billboard, the album is projected to land at the very top of the Billboard 200 chart, marking their first numero uno debut since 1996's Beats, Rhymes & Life, though the official report will arrive on November 20th.

The album arrived lat Friday, November 11th, and was followed by a heart-crushing tribute to the late Phife Dawg on Saturday Night Live the following night, where Dave Chappelle served as the evening's host in his own debut on the late-night staple. You can grab your copy of A Tribe Called Quest's We Got It From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service on iTunes today, just be sure to secure your wax via The Shop.
