Those looking for updates on the much-anticipated new Gorillaz album have been almost solely relegated to artist Jamie Hewlett's Instagram account. There, new sketches of the fabled animated quartet have provided the lone clues as to what's in store for us on that anxiously awaited day.
While no actual soundbites have been unveiled just yet from Damon Albarn's cartoon band, Hewlett has once again taken to Instagram -- though this time on a Gorillaz fan account -- to provide the world with an update on what's to come, breaking hearts at the reveal of a 2017 release date, but ensures fans that the album will be well worth the wait. The last Gorillaz album, 2011'sThe Fall, was a critical darling, featuring the late Bobby Womack, as well as The Clash's Paul Simonon and Mick Jones.
