Yup, true believers The Roots crew will be headlining the Hopscotch Music Festival this Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina, topping off an eclectic bill comprising some 175 (!) bands playing rock, hip-hop, alt-country, metal, dance, punk, classical, noise, drone, folk and...you know, music. Some of the other heavy-hitters playing the main stage for the 3-day festival (kicks off Thursday 9/6) are The Jesus and Mary Chain and Shirlette and The Dynamite Brothers. But other acts playing at a variety of venues which are of note to Okayplayers include: Balam Acab, Danny Brown, Deerhoof, Escort, Flosstradamus, G-Side,Killer Mike, Mark McGuire, Nick Catchdubs, Oneida and Yo La Tengo. You get all that and a whole lot more for the price of your 3-day wristband BUT bring some vinyl money because as ?uestlove pointed out in a recent tweet "there is NO digging like digging in NC."
