One last live and direct set from the eccentric Brooklyn legend

At the top of 2016, Yasiin Bey (the artist formerly known as Mos Def) sent out a transmission from his South Africa home, announcing his retirement from the music industry and entertainment at large.

The months that followed found the release of a collaborative project with Ferrari Sheppard as Dec 99thas well as a slew of year-end farewell performances both in NYC and DC, at the historic Apollo Theater and The Kennedy Center, respectively. But it appears Bey's got one last run in him, as ONE Musicfest announces the Brooklyn legend as their headliner for two-day affair. Bey shares the bill with contemporaries and newcomers alike, as Jill Scott, Thundercat, Kaytranada, Jidenna, Ari Lennox and Noname are also slated to perform. Whether this is the final farewell has yet to be determined, but we don't imagine there'll be too many more chances to catch Yasiin in the flesh.
