Following months of teasing and speculation as to what the project actually is, Childish Gambino's GuavaIsland film premiered just ahead of his Coachella debut last night.
And if you weren't in attendance, the film's been released as an Amazon exclusive. For the first 18 hours following the release, Guava Island will be available to stream for free. According to The New York Times, the film was written by Glover's brother, Steven, and directed by Atlanta bredren, Hiro Murai. Though it doesn't feature much in the way of new music, the film reportedly takes cues from Purple Rain and City of God with Cuba as a backdrop.
