Watch Beyoncé Perform "Be Alive" at the 2022 Oscars

Beyoncé did a rousing rendition of "Be Alive" at the 2022 Oscars. The singer also got her first Oscar nomination for the song.

Beyoncé has opened the 2022 Academy Awards by Performing the King Richard standout track "Be Alive." The singer, who did the performance from a massive tennis court in Compton, performed a rousing rendition of the song backed by a full orchestra.

Beyoncé got her first academy award nomination of her career for "Be Alive," which she co-wrote with Dixson. Fans heard the song at the end credits of King Richard, which is a biopic of Venus and Serena Williams and their father Richard. King Richard was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Will Smith), Best Supporting Actress (Aunjanue Ellis), Best Original Screenplayand Best Editing.

Beyoncé is an OT away from attaining EGOT status. Bey won an Emmy for Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé. And, last year, Beyoncé became the most awarded woman in Grammy history after she won the 28th statue of her career for performance on the "Savage" remix. If she happened to win an Oscar tonight she would just need a Tony. (It's not yet clear how Beyoncé would get that Tony.)

In interview with Entertainment Weekly last year, Will Smith, who plays Richard Williams in King Richard, said that Beyoncé wanted to contribute after she attended a screening of the film. Smith told EW"

"The marriage of a movie and a song is a kind of magic that's unmatched in entertainment. I was so happy when Beyoncé called."
