The Long-Awaited Usher, Lil' Jon and Ludacris Reunion "SexBeat" Is Finally Here

Lil' Jon previewed the track during his Instagram Live battle with T-Pain.

The long-awaited return of Usher, Lil' Jon, and Ludacris is finally here. On Thursday night, the trio released "SexBeat," their latest collaboration. Lil' Jon previewed the track (to resoundingly positive reviews) on his Instagram Live battle with T-Pain last Friday.

According to Jon, the three were working on the track as early as 2018. The track arrives 16 years after their smash hit "Yeah!" Billboard named the song the second-best Hot 100 Hit of the 2000s. The track attained Platinum status via the RIAA in ten different countries, including five-times Platinum in Australia. "Yeah!" gave Usher his fourth number-one single, and Lil Jon and Ludacris their first. The song has been featured in films like HitchThe Hangover, and The Interview.

The song's release comes on the heels of a minor controversy regarding Usher and The Weeknd. In Variety magazine's latest cover story, the Toronto crooner revealed that he initially was angered by Usher's 2012 single "Climax," claiming the song sounded like a House of Balloons track.

The song's co-writers Elijah Blake quickly responded on Instagram via the #ClimaxChallenge. "I wasn't Abel to wait till the weeknd so it's only right..." he wrote on Instagram. "Wasn't namn soul in the studio thinkin bout the Weekness when we did that song."
