The Solo Catalog of Prodigy Is Now Available for Streaming

Five years after his death, the catalog of rapper Prodigy, who was one-half of legendary rap duo Mobb Deep, is now available for streaming.

Good news for Prodigy fans. One month before the five-year anniversary of his death, the rapper's solo catalog has returned to DPS and digital merchants. Prodigy – whose legal name was Albert Johnson – had his catalog removed from all streaming services in 2019 due to legal disputes within his estate.

With management from L. Londell McMillan of The NorthStar Group and a new distribution deal with ADA, all installments of Johnson's H.N.I.C. series and 2012's The Bumpy Johnson Album will be available on Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music along with sites of all digital merchants.

On Friday, Spotify will host a special Fans First activation with access to exclusive merchandise.

“We are extremely thankful to all the fans for understanding the circumstances that our family had to professionally control at a time of grief, and for the kind words of encouragement we received from many of you,” says a representative of the Estate. “We would also like to thank the community of hip hop artists who came together to help us assemble Prodigy’s last projects. The music belongs to all of you and we are glad we can make it available again and forever.”

“In life and death, Prodigy's impact on the culture and music remains transcendent. It's an honor to work with the Estate of my friend Prodigy, and others who knew and loved Prodigy, as we protect his legacy and return his catalog back to the marketplace worldwide. So much more to come," says Chairman of The NorthStar Group, L. Londell McMillan, Esq.

Prodigy's new single “You Will See” from his upcoming posthumous album The Hegelian Dialectic: The Book of Heroine debuts on June 10. The full-length album is expected to release in the second quarter of 2022.
