The Senate Judiciary Committee Forewarns Ticketmaster Before Beyoncé Tour Pre-Sale

Days after Beyoncé announced the Renaissance World Tour, the Senate Judiciary Committee issued a warning to Ticketmaster on Twitter.

All eyes are on the upcoming Beyoncéglobal tour. The first two pre-sales for the 'Renaissance World Tour' are scheduled for begin Tuesday, February 7, with the second taking place the following Tuesday, February 14. Ahead of the pre-sales, the Senate Judiciary Committee issued a warning to Ticketmaster to avoid a disaster à la Taylor Swift's pre-sale for The Eras Tour.

Fans of Swift were waiting in the virtual Ticketmaster queue for hours on the day when tickets released, but thousands of people didn't receive tickets for the tour as the website repeatedly glitched. After the fiasco, the U.S. Congress held a hearing that focused on the "cyberattack" and Ticketmaster's mishandling of ticket sales.

However, the BeyHive is hopeful that the situation won't reoccur, as Ticketmaster issued a statement about ticket policy changes.

“Demand for this tour is expected to be high,” read the statement. “If there is more demand than there are tickets available, a lottery-style selection process will determine which registered Verified Fans get a unique access code and which are placed on the waitlist. A Verified Fan access code does not guarantee tickets, it just gives you access to join the sale. All tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If tickets remain, the lottery-style process will be used to invite more Verified Fans from the waitlist to join the sale.”

The Renaissance World Tour begins May 10 in Sweden as part of its European Leg, with North American Tour dates scheduled throughout the summer. The tour will be Bey's first in four years, following On the Run II in 2018 with her husband and longtime collaborator Jay-Z, promoting their debut collaboration album, Everything Is Love.
