"You're Mad, I'm Back": Tekashi 6ix9ine Shows He Hasn't Changed One Bit on New Single "Gooba"

The rapper announced the single yesterday via Times Square billboard in New York City.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has officially dropped his latest single “Gooba” and a new music video.

The new track arrives roughly a month after the New York rapper was released from prison fittingly on his birthday. His signature sound is prevalent throughout it. The drums are also significantly loud and biting (we expected that) and his voice is heavy throughout the entire track.

Unsurprisingly, his girlfriend Sarah Wattley appears in the newly released visual. Her ridiculous tattoo featuring the rapper’s face is featured prevalently in the visual alongside a crew of dancers with rainbow weaves. The clip is a bit goofy, but we get it, it’s supposed to get the people going (he’s currently trending on Twitter in the U.S.)

His return to the industry was inevitable and almost like a ticking time bomb. His release came as COVID-19 cases rose within prisons in the U.S. Following his new life under house arrest, he began booking shows abroad and also reportedly started purchasing cars.

Yesterday, May 7 he responded to Meek Mill’s Twitter shots over his return to Instagram Live. Meek tweeted out, “I hope that rat going live to apologize to the people he told on or the victim.” He also wrote, “Y'all forgot that fast a 'rat' killed Nipsey he wasn't suppose to be on the streets! That's the only thing ima day [sic] because he's dead... Left his baby mom and child like a coward as targets!” That same day, Tekashi rolled out a Times Square billboard announcing his new single.

Tekashi reportedly fired back by writing, “Imagine having a newborn baby come into the world & be pressed about a Mexican with rainbow hair.” Read the response to that below.

Regardless of what anyone has to say, Tekashi is back and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

In addition to rolling out a music video for "Gooba," 6ix9ine hosted an Instagram Live that garnered 2 million viewers. Take a look at the full video below.
