The producer and filmmaker has reportedly been "working on his own for several months."

Top Dawg Entertainment co-president, Dave Free, has resigned from his post.

According to a report from Rolling Stone, Free parted ways with the label at some point over the summer and has been "working on his own for several months." After managing Kendrick Lamar (and delivering him to TDE founder, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith,) the piece notes Free has been aiding the career of Baby Keem, though his role on that team is unclear.

Free joined the label after a chance booking to fix Tiffith's computer, where he had the opportunity to play a Lamar tape for the head of a freshly-founded TDE.  In 2013, the formerly underground LA label transformed into an industry powerhouse with the success of Lamar's debut album, good kid m.A.A.d city, and ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron the following year. During his run at the label, Free also landed co-director credits on nearly every Kendrick Lamar music video, including those from the smash Black Panther soundtrack.

At the time of publishing, reps for Free and TDE had yet to comment. Stay tuned for updates in the days ahead.
