Ras G, the hip-hop producer and DJ known for creating a vast catalog of experimental and psychedelic beats, has died. Brainfeeder confirmed the news in an Instagram post Monday afternoon. A cause of death has not been revealed.
Ras was a co-founding member of Brainfeeder, the independent record label led by Flying Lotus. In 2013, he released the album Back on the Planet through the label. Ras also collaborated with Lotus, Thundercat, and Open Mike Eagle, creating remixes of "Sleepy Dinosaur" and "Daylight," respectively, and producing the latter's song "Warhorn."

Following news of his death, a number of artists have shared their condolences to the producer including FlyLo, Thundercat, Fly Anakin, Hudson Mohawke, and Tokimonsta.
