MF DOOM Estate Declares This Halloween is "DOOMSDAY"

The estate of MF DOOM is marking the one-year anniversary of the late rapper's death with a benefit event in San Francisco on Halloween.

Though we learned of his death on New Years Eve, MF DOOM passed on October 31st of 2020. A cause of death was never specified. But to mark the one-year anniversary of the late rapper's transition, DOOM's estate is declaring this Halloween to be DOOMSDAY with a benefit in San Francisco that will raise money for the rapper's family.

Announced in an Instagram post last night (see below,) DOOMSDAY will feature work from more than 30 artists, each displaying pieces inspired by DOOM. On the musical end of the day's programming, there will, of course, be copious selectors providing "supervillain specialist soundtracks." The bill includes sets from King Most, Cutso, Jerry Nice, and Abby Imperial. The event is being held outdoors and will begin at 12pm on Sunday at City Station. Half of all proceeds will be donated to the MF DOOM estate.

DOOM's wife, Jasmine, publically announced his death on December 31st, 2020 in a post on his Instagram account. "The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family," she wrote.
