For His 28th Birthday, Maxo Releases New Album 'Even God Has A Sense of Humor'

To commemorate his 28th birthday, L.A. rapper Maxo has released his newest Def Jam album Even God Has A Sense of Humor.

L.A. rhymesayer Maxo is celebrating his 28th year of life with new album, Even God Has A Sense of Humor. His second release on Def Jam Recordings, the 14-track album features Pink Siifu, Liv.e, Melanie Charles and keiyaA, with production from Dom Maker of Mount Kimble, Devin Morrison, Madlib, lastnamedavid and more.

For the artistic album cover, visual artist John Ahearn created three busts of Maxo, which was created after the rapper breathing out of straws while the castes were set during a multi-day process. One bust, titled "Sleepy Maxo," was acquired by the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.

Also on Wednesday (February 22), the rapper, birth name Maximillian Allen, will hold a pop-up show at L.A.'s Harun Coffee Shop. Last week, Allen released the album's second single "Free!" which accompanied a Vincent Haycock-directed music video for the song. First single, "48" featuring Pink Siifu, released last August.

“I done experienced the most — every feeling,” Allen told The Fader about his new album. “To just get to this point and be present for it… Honestly, I don’t regret nothing because it really is life aside from new music. I’m a different person right now than I was when I started this.”

Allen's Def Jam debut, Lil Big Man, released in 2019. The 10-track album included singles "In My Penny's" and "Time," with appearances from Siifu, Liv.e and Lojii.
