Mary J. Blige took home BET’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement honors at this evening’s award ceremony. The award was presented by Rihanna, who paid tribute to the ’90s r&b icon with some words of reverence.
Blige warmly thanked her fans, team, and family for the award before Diddy, Queen Latifah and Andre Harrell, hit the screen in a commemorative montage. Following the hand-off, the singer was joined by Lil Kim and Method Man for a performance that featured a medley of classics from her catalog, including “No More Drama,” “All I Really Want,” “Love No Limit,” “I Can Love You,” “You’re All I Need,” and more, throwing her hallmark kicks and swapping outfits for each respective era.
