Lupe Fiasco and Royce Da 5’9″ are kicking off their weekly podcast on October 8.
The two rappers announced The Lupe & Royce Show over the weekend on their respective social media accounts.
A description of the podcast via Apple Podcasts describes the show as a weekly podcast that will be “Half conversation between friends, half interview show, and 100% weird.” A preview of the show is also available to listen to on Apple Podcasts. It will also be available on Spotify.
In related news, earlier this year Royce spoke on Fiasco wanting to take up Joe Budden’s spot in Slaughterhouse, saying that “It’ll never happen.”
“Nobody will ever replace Joe. Nobody can replace anybody from Slaughterhouse,” he said. “If Lupe were to take Joe’s spot and it’d be me, Lupe, Joell and Crook, it would just be a different group. It wouldn’t be Slaughterhouse.”
“And that’s certainly not taking anything from Lupe,” the Detroit rapper continued. “If anything, that’s elevating Lupe to where he should be. He’s no group replacement guy. He’s great. He’s not just an MC, he’s a master. So it takes on a completely different form because you have somebody whose personality traits [are] something totally different, has completely different characteristics outside of the booth, and that’s not a replacement to Joe. That’s something completely different. They’re two totally different kinds of rappers and people. So that’s not a swap.”
