Lupe Fiasco Played a Snippet of "Hip-Hop Saved My Life Pt. 2" At a Show
Lupe made a sequel to one of his most iconic records
Next month will be the ten year anniversary of Lupe Fiasco’s classic sophomore album The Cool.
The standout from that album was the Grammy-nominated single “Hip-Hop Saved My Life,” which told the tale of how a Houston rapper went from “1100 friends on his MySpace page” to rap stardom.
Now Lupe is getting ready to release the sequel.
The Chicago rapper performed in Dallas over the weekend. While there he stopped the show and had his DJ start playing an extended snippet of “Hip-Hop Saved My Life Pt. 2.” Lupe admitted he wanted to debut the song at a Houston show…but Dallas is close enough.
Who knows when we’ll get the full version of the song. But it’s well known that Lupe is working on a new album called Drogas Wave and Skulls. That album probably isn’t dropping this year.
