Lil Uzi Vert Drops Details on Upcoming Album 'Eternal Awake' & Single "Futsal Shuffle"

The Philly rapper's upcoming second studio album could be arriving soon.

Lil Uzi Vert has recently been dropping hints on his upcoming album Eternal Awake, now the rapper is gearing up to unveil his latest single "Futsal Shuffle."

Over on Twitter, he checked in with his fans to ask "Y’all wanna see official artwork for #Futsalshuffle2020." A massive amount of fans responded which led to Uzi sharing the cover art for the song. The image features the artist animated alongside a few cartoon schoolgirls. The caption shared that the single would drop in 2020.

Eternal Awake will reportedly be the follow-up to Uzi's 2017 album Luv Is Rage 2. He revealed the title of this album back in July 2018. Following a bit of backlash surrounding artwork for the project which depicted inspiration from the logo of the Heaven's Gate cult, he switched the cover art completely. Then in December 2018 he declared he'd completed the album.

At the top of this year in January, he shared that he was retiring from music which many believe was a publicity stunt. In March he was receiving complaints about the release of Eternal Awake. Uzi previously experienced issues with Generation Now, the record label ran by DJ Drama ahead of the release of Luv Is Rage 2. Genius reports that on March 24, DJ Drama posted a comment sharing that Uzi could release Eternal Awake whenever he was ready. "Sanguine Paradise" and "That's A Rack" finally arrived in April after they were leaked.

On June 4, a video was posted online featuring Uzi sharing with a fan that the project would finally release in "two weeks." This proved to be untrue. Fast forward to November 30, he teased the highly anticipated album by taking to Instagram to share himself dancing to the beat of "Futsal Shuffle."
