Lalah Hathway joins Questlove for an intimate conversation on “Questlove Supreme.”
This week on “Questlove Supreme,” jazz and R&B songstress, Lalah Hathaway, daughter of the late, great Donny Hathaway, sat down with Questlove and co-host Suga Steve for her feature episode “Growing Up Lalah.”
On the episode, which was taped live at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles, the Grammy award-winning singer talks about carrying on her father’s legacy, growing up in Chicago, her penchant for video games, and working with Prince.
Questlove gets nervous introducing the singer calling her “frightening.” After all, she is a legend in her own right.
Hathaway delves into growing up in Chicago, going to a performance art school with John Cusack, opening up for Prince, how her parents met at Howard and fell in love. The conversation also takes a hilarious turn as the artist talks about her obsession with watching reruns of HBO’s “Real Sex,” and how she recently had a dream in which Prince paid her a visit, with an even more strange surprise appearance from Jaden Smith.
Lalah released her eighth studio album, honestly last year, kicking off her U.S. Honestly Tour.
