Knxwledge Reconstructs Musiq Soulchild Sleepers on New Beat Tape

One of two new Bandcamp drops from the prolific looper.

Knxwledge is back at it. Though he once threatened to wrap his Bandcamp drops at the century mark to combat the rampant pirating of his tapes, the producer returned from a (very) brief hiatus in early May. And since then, he’s liberated another five tapes.

This week, he added another pair of releases to an ever-expanding catalog. First, a new installment of his Wrap Taypes series. But the follow-through, Musiq.PRT_1, builds out on his recently unveiled remix of Musiq Soulchild‘s “Just Friends” with seven additional flips of overlooked gems from the singer’s career. And the title indicates that the project could be the inaugural offering in a new remix series.

And if you’ve been wondering if we’ll ever get the official sequel to his Stones Throw debut, Hud Dreems, the producer shared an update earlier this week. In an Instagram post, Knxw claimed, “The album is complete” (rough translation from Japanese.)
