While Kendrick Lamar is currently on The Big Steppers Tour, on Wednesday, he shared a reflective message on Instagram with 50 tour candids.

Kendrick Lamar is in a reflective mood while on the first half of The Big Steppers Tour. On Wednesday (August 3), the Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers rapper posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram Story, along with 50 photos from his tour.

Lamar began by sharing that it took him 20 years to craft "Mother I Sober," which features singer-songwriter Beth Gibbons from Portishead. Preceding "Mother I Sober" is “Mr. Morale,” featuring German author and spiritual teacher Echkart Tolle, who speaks of emotional pain carried from childhood well into adulthood."

“Mr morale. the catalyst of my self expression,” Lamar wrote. “ill never forget the process of falling in love with imperfection. the piano. my fans. the stories of reconciliation i hear from pentitentiaries to small villages. Some words will find you today. Some will find you in 10. find your children type shit. sitting in the corner like an old book,” he continued. “im forever underground. infratrating the mainstream a la carte. these cities still beautiful to watch. on jojo. ily. –ok ok!”

In a rare interview with Complex, Tolle spoke with first meeting Lamar before contributing to Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.

“I was very favorably impressed by him,” Tolle said. “We got on very well. I found him soft-spoken, quite present, and more introverted than extroverted. We had a talk, and while we were talking, I couldn’t detect any ego in him. He was very present, so I had a good feeling about him.”
