Jimi Hendrix's four-set run at NYC's legendary Fillmore East has been released in its entirety for the first time ever.

Recorded on New Years Eve and New Years Day 1970 at the shortlived NYC venue, selections from the consecutive nights of performances were cut into Hendrix's final album, Band of Gypsies, which debuted his power trio with Buddy Miles on drums and Billy Cox on bass. But the six-track cap to Hendrix's living career was just a sliver of what the trio had cooked up to close the decade.

Sony's Legacy Recordings has unearthed all four sets from the Fillmore performances, gathering them on the comprehensive four-disc box-set, Songs for Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts. The audio was restored by dusty tape specialist, Bernie Grundman, and features new mixes from longtime Hendrix engineer, Eddie Kramer.
