This is the Detroit native’s fourth EP, it follows the release of her last single “Mercedes Key.”
Emerging singer-songwriter Jayla Darden releases her newest EP, Onto Something. The seven-track project features a lineup of breezy, R&B tracks produced by the artist.
With Onto Something, the Detroit native reintroduces herself and expresses her innermost self through her artistry. One standout track, “Sweating Me” features Darden singing about wanting her significant other to chase her and be consistent. Another song, “Onto Something” sees her experiencing fleeting feelings of infatuation and wanting to be honest about her growing feelings for someone.
Over the past few years, she has released three EPs: 118, Ideas, Vol. 1 and Ideas, Vol. 2 in addition to singles that have steadily built her growing fan base. Darden’s last single was the track “Mercedes Key” which dropped earlier this year. Onto Something is her first EP to roll out since she officially signed to Interscope Records.
