Things got staticky between DJ Envy and Desus and Mero.
DJ Envy stormed out of Power 105’s The Breakfast Club Thursday morning after confronting Desus and Mero about a comment they made about his wife last month.
“We’re gonna start with this,” Envy said a the beginning of the interview. “You owe my wife an apology.”
The comedy duo appeared confused and asked why. Envy explained that the two “insinuated that she was only there for the check, on your show [Desus & Mero].” He added, “My wife has known me since 15, before I had a dollar. She’s making more money than me. So to insinuate that she was there for a check or she was good with Envy’s check, is a disrespect to me and her.”

Desus charged that they weren’t able to pinpoint that comment because they do four shows a week and may have forgotten. Both comedians asked if Envy could run the Desus & Mero clip. On the episode from Feb. 15, they showed a snippet of DJ Envy and his wife Gia Casey on the talk show The Real discussing their relationship and Envy’s past infidelity. Envy said “I was Raashaun at home but on the streets, I was DJ Envy,” to which his wife replied, “I didn’t know DJ Envy.”
In the clip, Desus commented, “But you knew them DJ Envy checks though.”
He and Mero apologized and asserted that it was a joke. Envy replied, “You can talk about me all day, you can make jokes at me, but when it comes to my wife and family, it’s a little disrespectful.”
Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God continued the interview without Envy, who appears to walk off set in a video posted to twitter.
Charlamagne says, “He could have just sat out the interview like I did Troy Ave.”
