Boldy James to Release Physical-Only EP with Real Bad Man

The forthcoming Boldy James EP ADU, produced by Real Bad Man, will only be released to vinyl, CD and cassettes.

Detroit emcee Boldy James is unwrapping a post-holiday gift for loyal fans. The rapper's forthcoming EP, ADU, will be released to vinyl, CD and cassettes. Produced entirely by Real Bad Man, the EP will have a physical-only drop, each format made available to purchase on January 16.

“This is a physical release through @rrcmusic.co[.] No digital, no streaming […] no pre-orders,” James writes in a portion of the post’s Instagram caption. The bottom of the image shows that the EP will have six tracks, with Side A featuring “Hellblock to the Sunnyside,” “Hot Cakes” and “Big Bags," while Side B will contain “Sweetest Taboo,” “Jonny On the Spot” and “Give Or Take."

ADU will mark James' third collaborative effort with Real Bad Man, the first being 2020's Real Bad Boldy. After being a supporting act on Earl Sweatshirt and Action Bronson's ÑBA Leather World Tour last year, James released four albums of his own, including Killing Nothing with Real Bad Man, Fair Exchange No Robbery with Nicholas Craven, Mr. Ten08 with Futurewave and Be That as It May with Cuns.

Next, James is poised to release a project with unreleased production from the late J Dilla, reportedly titled Drug Dilla.

“A lot of people owe their success, you know, not owe their success, but he alley-ooped a lot of people’s success,” James told interviewer D-Stroy last June. “The list goes on, I’m not about to start name-dropping, but if you don’t know who this guy is, you need to do your history. J Dilla, Detroit, stand up.”
