Blood Orange's new album is coming sooner than you think

Devonté Hynes has announced details about his upcoming fourth studio album under the Blood Orange moniker.

HEAR: Blood Orange Releases Two New Songs in Honor of Black History Month

The album will be called Negro Swan, and it will be released on August 24, 2018. Negro Swan is the official follow up to the excellent Freetown Sound LP released in 2016.

Dev Hynes wrote and produced all the songs on the album. In a press release, Hynes said:

My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.

The album will have a physical release. There will be a "The Domino Mart" deluxe double LP version of the album that will be available on a limited edition gold vinyl.
