What producer will Big Sean and Mustard work with?
Big Sean and producer Mustard helped celebrate the Season five kick off of the Producers Series on Tuesday night. The event took place at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Music executives and fans were in the house to see a good old-fashioned beat battle.
Hosted by The Breakfast Club’s DJ Envy, the event featured performances by the four NYC producers who were competing for a spot in the Producers Series finale in Los Angeles this fall.
The grand prize winner will get the opportunity to make a track with Big Sean and Mustard. The four producers who competed were Point 1, RamZ, St. James the Producer and N88. Each producer played their beat for the crowd. Then a panel of judges gave out scores. The judges included music executives Kendall “Sav” Freeman, Vice President of Maybach Music Group, Steve Carless, A&R at Universal Music Group, and Orlando Wharton, A&R at Atlantic Records.
So who was the winner? it ended up being St. James the Producer, who will move on to the finals.
This NYC event was just the beginning. There will be seven more events, in cities like Detroit, Las Vegas, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston. The finales will be in Los Angeles where the winner will be crowned.
