Apparently Andre 3000 picked a handful of songs he wanted to feature on from Anderson .Paak's latest releases, Oxnard and Ventura. Speaking with Elliott Wilson and Brian 'B.Dot' Miller on their Rap Radar podcast, .Paak discussed how Andre's Ventura feature came about.
"I was coming toward the close of both albums and I was like, 'This has gotta happen,'" .Paak said of Andre's guest feature. "He came thru for about three days and just vibed out, listened to both albums, and picked like four or five joints he wanted to get on...it was an emotional rollercoaster."
"Come Home," the track that opens Ventura and features Andre, is presumably one of the four or five tracks the Outkast rapper did that actually made it to the album.
Elsewhere in the interview, .Paak also talked about how he felt after hearing Andre's verse for the first time.
"I was kind of at a loss at first," .Paak said. "That verse is so dense, when I first heard it I was like, 'Did he say Billabong?'...I had to play it like eight times."
